Happy Day with Flower Friend Avery

Morning My Dear Friends!
Hope you are well wherever you are.

I have a new PND guest design creation to share with you today.
Since spring and Easter is just around the corner, I made an egg-shaped shadow box card
using Flower Friend stamp from Paper Nest Dolls' Fairytale Collection.

The shadow box is about 6.5"(H) x 5"(W) x 1.5"(D). The front panel has an opening
which is joined with the back panel with an 1.5" accordion fold on each side.
Avery is attached to the front panel with narrower accordion folds.
I am not able to show you the side views as I forgot to take
pictures before I sent the card off to Christine.

I have colored the image with Distress Ink pads as usual.

Designer paper ~ Maja Design Coffee in the Arbour and Vintage Spring Basic Collections.
Dies ~ Impression Obsessions, Magnolia, and Memory Box.
Sentiments ~ Retired Stampin'Up rub-ons.

The following embellishments are available at The Ribbon Girl Shop:
Vintage cream and vintage pink blossom flowers, 3mm white flatback s/a pearls,
WOC pale lemon pretty blossom, WOC baby pink tulip flowers,
white Gutermann top stitching thread, 3mm & 6mm sticky tapes.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hope my shadow box card inspired you to create a spring/Easter themed card!

Have a great week and see you soon!

Tilda With Her Bunny ~ Another Fridge Post-It-Note Caddy

Happy March 1st Everyone!
Hope you are all doing well wherever you are.

Today, I have a new creation to share with you; another fridge post-it-note caddy.
I made one not too long ago here and really like the way it dresses up
my kitchen. This one is for a friend's birthday coming up very soon.
Hope this adds a functional element in her kitchen too.

I recently accepted a DT invitation From Katie Tate, Scor-Pal
Design Team Coordinator and Social Media Director.
Scor-Pal products have always been my must-have items for crafting,
e.g. Scor-Pal scoring board, Scor-tape and Scor-mat.
I think designing for products I love is the best way to showcase
my creativity and the versatility of the products.

This DT creation is designed for both Ribbon Girl and Scor-Pal.
The challenge themes are:
The Ribbon Girl March Card Challenge: Add flowers
The Ribbon Girl Blog

Scor-Pal March Challenge: Organizational and More Than One Score

The image is Tilda With Her Bunny from Magnolia Butterfly Dreams Collection.
I have colored it with Distress Ink pads as usual.

Designer Paper: Maja Design Nyhavn Collection
Dies/punch: Magnolia, Memory Box, Go Kreate, Martha Stewart

The following embellishments are available at The Ribbon Girl Shop:
8mm Rebecca ivory vintage cluny lace, 3mm white s/a flatback pearls,
5mm white s/a flatback pearl, white Gutermann top stitching thread,
WOC lemon yellow and blue blossom flowers, Apple Blossom flower,
Forget-Me-Not fabric flowers, cream tiny Ric Rac ribbon.

This post-it-note caddy measures 9.5"(H)x 5"(W)x 0.75"(D).
I have borrowed the idea from my blog friend Alexandra, AKA Clay Guana.
She has a lovely fridge post-it-note holder tutorial here.
I have modified her dimension for my version in order to fit the topper.
And of course, I used my Scor-Pal for precise scoring the caddy part.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
I am still working my way through a few spring birthday cards and some
baby projects. Hopefully I get time to stop by your blogs soon.

Have a lovely day!

Hugs,
Katie

Tilda Kitchen Towel Holder ~ Use Lace at The Ribbon Girl

Good Morning Everyone!
Hope you're all doing well and enjoying the weekend!
We've had a very mild winter here in Vancouver, the cherry blossom has already started.

I apologize that I have not visited your blog or Facebook posts lately
as I have been busy at work and at home.

So onto my post today, a DT creation for The Ribbon Girl's February
Magnolia Only Challenge. The theme this month is ~ Use Lace.
I have always loved the lace collections at The Ribbon Girl Shop;
the vintage style laces are my favorite and must have in my stash.

I made a couple of kitchen towel holders using Violet Tilda
from the 2013 Magnolia Sea Breeze Collection.
The towel holders are miniature aprons measuring 5"x9".
The 2 aprons are slightly different, can you tell at least 3 differences?

The image was stamped on TAP paper (Transfer Artist Paper) and
colored with Copics before transferred onto fabric by ironing.

One of my favorite items from The Ribbon Girl is the sticky tape.
I have collected a stash of the plastic cores and intended to use them
in my creations. Here is one of the ideas that you can recycle them.
I have used the ring as the towel holder under the apron skirt.

The ring is detachable and the apron is machine washable.

Here is a picture of how I hung the towel in my kitchen drawer handle.

And this is the picture of the much improved version :^) !
You can hang the towel holder on oven handle too.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope my creation has inspired you
to create a towel holder for your home.

Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Katie

The following embellishments are available at The Ribbon Girl Shop:
Blooms tiny vintage pink flowers, 3mm white flatback s/a pearls

Love Grows ~ Fridge Post-It-Note Caddy

Hello Peeps!
Hope you all are having a great weekend.

Today I have a new creation to share with you ~ a fridge note caddy.
I have made it for The Ribbon Girl's Card Challenge ~ Romance.

Instead of making a Valentine's Day card, I thought of making a
post-it-note caddy for the fridge door since my DH can never
find the note pad and pen when he needs one.

The idea is from my crafty friend Alexandra, aka ClayGuana.
She had a post-it- note fridge holder tutorial here.
I have borrowed her idea and made my own measurement for this
fridge note caddy. Thanks Alexandra for your inspiration!

The image is a retired LOTV stamp, Love Grows.
I have water colored it with DI pads.

Designer Paper~ Maja Design Coffee in the Arbour Collection

Dies ~ Marianne Design, Memory Box, Joy Craft, Magnolia, Spellbinder

The following embellishments are available at The Ribbon Girl Shop:
K&G pale pink rolled rose, WOC pale lemon and pink blossom flowers,
WOC 10mm pale pink open roses, WOC tiny pale pink rosebuds,
38mm vintage pink fluted edge sheer ribbon, 17mm Faye ivory cluny lace,
8mm Rebecca ivory cluny lace, 25mm Deborah ivory cluny lace,
3mm white flatback s/a pearls, white top stitching thread,
3mm and 6mm sticky tapes.

I love this note caddy. It makes my fridge door looks rather pretty!
I think I will make a few more as gifts for friends.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I wish you all a lovely week!

Hugs,
Katie

Joyful Tilda Tea Cozy

Happy Sunday Everyone!
Hope you are all keeping well.

It's time for the 1st 2015 Magnolia Only Challenge at The Ribbon Girl.
The challenge theme is ~ Seeing Spots.
I made a tea cozy using Joyful Tilda and Tea Label image for my DT creation.

I stamped the Tilda image on TAP paper (Transfer Artist Paper),
colored it with Copic markers, then transferred it to white cotton fabric by ironing.
The image panel can be removed from the tea cozy and washed separately.

The tea cozy measures 8"(W) x 9"(H) x 3"(D). It resembles a large tea bag.

I have embellished it with the following items from The Ribbon Girl Shop:
8mm Rebecca ivory cluny lace, 25mm Joanne ivory cluny lace,
19mm Alice white Guipure lace, rose pearl white organza ribbon,
pink organza looped trim, pale rose pink tiny ric rac ribbon,
small white lace butterfly, heart wooden button,
15mm Hand Made With Love printed ribbon.

The fabrics were retired Stampin'Up cotton fabrics. I had collected
quite a stash of quilting materials in the past. This year I plan to
make good use of them for various projects.

You can see all the beautiful designer team creations at The Ribbon Girl.
I hope my creation has inspired you to make a Magnolia project
and join in our challenge and win great prizes ~ a stamp
from Magnolia Sweden and £10 voucher to TRG.

Thanks so much for stopping by and wish you a lovely week!

Hugs,
Katie

Recipe Card Caddy ~ Buttons and Bows at ABC Challenges

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog!

Today, I have a new creation to share with you.
This is my 2nd project as January Guest Designer at ABC Challenges.
The challenge theme from Jan 15 to 31 is B for ~ Buttons and Bows.
I'd like to thank Nikki for having me as the guest designer!

One of my goals this year is to create practical and functional projects.

A co-worker of mine has embarked a new adventure, attending a 6-month
Baking and Pastry Arts Program at Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts.
She is an excellent baker to start with, always bringing delicious
bake goods to work. I am sure she will excel in her skills.
She has also started her blog, The White Oven,
documenting her culinary adventure.
I wish Janice lots of success!

I made an apron shaped recipe card caddy for Janice.
The image is Tilda with Love Cake. I have water colored her with DIs.

The caddy measures 5"(W) x 7"(H) x 1.75"(D).
It can hold 3" x 5" or 4" x 6" index cards.
The miniature rolling pin is attached to a note tag which
is tucked in the pocket behind the focal image.

Here's the back side of the caddy.
Extra note cards can be tucked in the pocket behind the lace trim.

Side view and inside of the caddy.

Designer paper used~ Maja Design A Gift For You Collection.
Dies and punch used~ Marianne Design, Magnolia, Memory Box,
Joy Craft, Spellbinders, and Stampin'Up.

The following embellishments are available at The Ribbon Girl Shop:
13mm Olivia white cluny lace, 18mm Danielle antique white cluny lace,
30mm white zig zag cotton lace, natural hemp twine, miniature rolling pin,
WOC apple blossom flowers, tiny vintage pink bloom, sticky tapes,
10mm red/cream square check ribbon, red button twine,
top stitching thread, white teeny tiny pom pom trim.

And thank you so much for stopping by again.

Crochet Slippers and Cowls

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I have been playing with yarns lately. It is one of my new-year resolutions
to revisit crafts I used to love and to learn other crafting skills.

It has been a long long time since I last crocheted. I learned to crochet
as a child, playing with leftover yarns mom no longer needed.

There are so many beautiful yarn projects on Pinterest,
I just couldn't resist giving crochet another try.

Here are some crochet projects I have made during my break time
at work and while watching TV with my DH at home.

Cotton ballerina slippers embellished with lace and organza ribbon roses.

Reversible infinity scarfs/cowls.

Free patterns for the above projects are available here:

I will be back with a new paper craft project on Jan 15.
Thanks for visiting and have a great week!

Hugs,
Katie

I Love My Puppy Calendar~ ABC Challenges GDT

Happy New Year Everyone!

It's a Guest Design project I made for ABC Challenges.
Thanks Nikki for having me as the January GDT!

sponsored by All Dressed Up Digital Stamps.

This sweet digi image is called I Love My Puppy from ADU.

I have modified all measurements to create this double sided calendar,
in order to fit in the image and all the dice. The base measures
4"D x 4 5/8"W and carries six dice, each measures 1 ½” ³.

Side view and back view.

Designer Paper ~ Maja Design Coffee in the Arbour Collection.
